Job Description:
StageDoor Theatre, located in Conifer Colorado, is seeking an Education Director for its K-12 Education program. The program consists of three troupes—Elementary, Middle School, and High School. Each group has its own director and students participate in classes during the school week, culminating in productions throughout the school year. We also have summer camps for all age levels.

As Education Director, you will play a key role in overseeing each program and production. The primary areas of responsibility include educational programming and production; staff management and oversight; marketing and public relations; and oversight of budgets and accounting.

Primary responsibilities include:

Educational programming and production

Research and select productions for all educational levels each season with Education Team and coordinate acquisition of show rights
Attend auditions, and oversee all aspects of productions and production staffing.
Create and manage season educational schedule for all levels including production based programming, summer camps, workshops, vocal lessons, etc.
Develop and oversee education calendar
Manage registration software (MainstreetSites) for each education class.
Staff management

Interview, hire and oversee contract staff for each education level/show with Education Team
Recruit and manage key volunteers for various education related positions
Work closely with production manager(s) to provide appropriate support, assist with planning production meetings for all education shows, and attend production meetings
Marketing and public relations

Create promotional items, including promotional sheets, posters and banners.
Design and develop education pages on the StageDoor Theatre website, and ensure that information is current.
Manage educational marketing, including advertising, social media, emails, and articles in local publications.
Promote StageDoor Theatre’s programs and productions to potential students and the public through attendance at local meetings, in schools, and in-theatre events.
Create emails on StageDoor’s website and ticketing platform to promote shows.
Budgets and Accounting

Work with Treasurer to create budgets for each education production
Manage individual client/student accounts in Mainstreets w/ support of bookkeeper
Coordinate staff compensation schedules with bookkeeper
This part-time contractor position is supported by StageDoor Theatre’s Production Managers and Board. You will have significant input into the program’s day-to-day operations for our more than 200 students. You will also play a major role in nurturing and maintaining the key relationships with parents and volunteers.
